Next week, the Lisbon's International Fair Meeting Centre will host SHiFT'08, an international conference around human factors, interaction design and user experience. This is going to be the second edition of SHiFT, short for Social and Human Ideas For Technology, that, after 230 attendees in 2006, expects to gather around 500 people participating during 3 whole days.
This year's theme is Transient Technologies in the sense of how technology is breaking it's traditional boundaries and embracing us all. I had the chance to send an abstract for evaluation to the breakout sessions and the organizers accepted it. So this entitles me as an honored presenter at SHiFT'08 in the User Experience track, and I mean really honored because the Speakers Line-Up are, altogether, offering a really interesting program. Hope that my content will be worth of it, and that my English speaking skills are enough.
In my presentation, called "A DeepZoom Primer", I will be introducing the concepts behind the DeepZoom technology: creation of collections & compositions, interaction from code, integration within the Silverlight programming model and ease of automation processes. As an extra goodie, I'll be discussing many proposed use scenarios, as well as listen to people suggestions. If you are attending the event, I would love to hear from you so drop a note on the comments or the contact form. All the code + slides will be made available after the conference, so everyone can play with it.
Finally, I would like to thank Pedro Custódio and the rest of the organizers for such a great opportunity.
